Dubli Adds Shopping Mall May 25, 2009

Posted by admin in : Uncategorized , add a comment

Dubli has now added a Shopping Portal to it’s site. It is a great addition and includes many well known brands such as BestBuy, Academic SuperStore, HP Shopping, Dell Small Business, Aeropostale, Avenue, Banana Republic, and loasds more.

Here’s how it works. As a member of Dubli (it costs nothing to join) when you shop from the Dubli Portal you earn points based on the discount percentage that each merchant offers. They range from 2% to 20% of your purchase (although most are under 5%).  These points are credited to your account and then you can redeem them on a gift credit card or use them to pay for future purchases.

So why not shop via the Dubli Portal. You might as well as it costs you nothing but you gain an additional discount from each reseller. Give it a try today.

If you do sign up and would like some free credits to try out the auctions, just let me know and I will send you some.

New Name for this Website October 7, 2008

As you might have noticed, this website name has been changed from Dubli Review to Online Auction Buzz! All the business associates are being asked to remove the “Dubli” from our URLs.

If you typed in Dubli Review you should have been automatically redirected to this site. I will actually leave Dubli Review up for a few weeks to give time for the search engines to catch up.

Oops - Not Quite Launched October 5, 2008

I wrote yesterday that Dubli had launched in the US — well, not quite. They have started up the US site but it is not quite glitch free and we received an e-mail to say that it will be a few days before the site is stable. So if you have been trying to access the site and have been experiencing problems, it may be best to wait a few days.

Making Money With Dubli - The numbers September 18, 2008

Posted by admin in : Uncategorized , add a comment

Some of the data from Europe is starting to trickle out and the numbers are impressive. In my last post I talked about how Dubli is different from MLMs or other businesses. Lets put some examples together using the European data to show the potential.

When you buy a license whether it be Bronze, Silver of Gold, you get a certain number of credits which are used to bid on an auction. We know that in Europe each customer refers around 5 other customers. We also know that in Europe each customer spends around $10 a month on credits (we are thinking that will be higher in the US).

Here is an example (and remember your experience may be different). Let’s say you are at the silver level with 1,595 credits. You decide to give away 3 credits per person. That is 531 people. Each of them refers 5 other people who refer 5 others and so on (remember these are averages so your mileage will vary). It is not hard to imagine you could have 3,000 to 15,000 or more customers using your affiliate code.

At the lowest level in the organization you get 10% of the click revenue from your direct customers. At the low end that could mean 300 x $10 x 10% a month which is $300 or more. At the higher end it could be 15,000 x $10 x 10% which is $15,000 a month or more.

As you progress in the organization your 10% becomes 12% and up to a maximum of 24% revenue from your direct customers.

In addition to this you get from 2% to 14% from organization customers. These are the customers of the people you have recruited to be business associates.! You can imagine, as you build an organization, the revenue opportunity is huge.

And that doesn’t include the revenue you receive from recruiting another business associate which ranges from $75 to $1500 depending on the license type you have.

Of course only a few people will reach the top percentages and numbers but the point is that it is possible. And even if you don’t make these top numbers, you can still do very well at a lower level.

So who are the people who will be most successful with Dubli? I think they will be the people who can reach out and touch a lot of people. They are also people who can build an organization and help their team to grow. The viral nature of this business is one of the things that makes it so attractive.

How Does Dubli Compare to Typical MLMs or Network Marketing Companies? September 16, 2008

Many people are hesitant about Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) companies (I am myself!). Some have had poor experiences with them in the past and don’t believe they can earn good money. Many of the concerns are due to the way MLMs work.

Here is how a typical MLM works:

  1. You sell a product or service, often at a premium price.
  2. There is a very low customer to business associate ratio of typically 2:1 or 3:1.
  3. The average customer lasts less than 1 year so you must constantly recruit more customers.
  4. Due to this low ratio the emphasis is always on constant recruiting of business associates since they are the primary customers in the business. In a typical MLM, over 75% of the purchasing is done by business associates, not customers. This is why there is a never ending emphasis on recruiting…the business associates are actually the main customers. They don’t usually tell you this.
  5. You have an ongoing time commitment to deal with the customers you have, and try to encourage them to buy more, or try the new products coming out.

There are often “systems” of time consuming meetings that are either required or strongly encouraged. Also, tapes and books may be “required”…very expensive.

Here is how DubLi works:

  1. You do not sell a product or service. Just introduce people to a website and give them your affiliate code.
  2. Extremely high customer to business associate ratio…. 70:1 after 6 months and over 100:1 after 2 years (based on German country experience). No MLM has such good ratios.
  3. Average customers last much longer, and tend to grow in a viral fashion so your CUSTOMERS actually recruit other customers…not you.
  4. There is only a short to medium term emphasis on recruiting business associates since long term profitability comes from customers buying items through the website.
  5. No ongoing time commitment to deal with customers since they deal entirely with the website.
  6. No required meetings, no books or tapes to purchase, etc.

This is how you make money:

DubLi is only a distant cousin of MLM.  DubLi is actually a hybrid of 3 different sales systems with 5 different revenue streams:

  1. Revenue from registering business associates (much of your revenue will come from this at the beginning but only until customers start shopping on the Dubli site i.e. #2 below)
  2. Revenue from customers using website (commissions on the clicks)
  3. Revenue from DubLi Shopping Mall click thru’s (e-commerce)
  4. Revenue from DubLi Shops (sales commissions)
  5. Revenue from Private Label Auctions (sales commissions)

In a traditional MLM type business you cannot make much income without recruiting many, many business associates. In DubLi you can make good money without recruiting many business associates but you make far more money by recruiting at least a few associates.

Giving Dubli A Try August 21, 2008

I don’t know if Dubli is the greatest thing since sliced bread or not. I don’t really know if the great success stories I have been told are true or not. I can’t prove any of them. But I can look at how the service works to see if I think US consumers will like the service. And I can look at the way the compensation plan works. I have concluded that, yes, perhaps this will work.

The investment is relatively small so if it doesn’t work, I haven’t lost much. On the other hand the upside is significant so I have decided to sign up.

In the next few days I will write more about my experience and explain more details about Dubli as best I know them.

Please take a look at the official Dubli information page for people who would like to be involved in Dubli as a business. This will take you to my affiliate page where there are videos and other information about Dubli.

If you might be interested in Dubli as a was to buy products at a discount then take a look at the Dubli beta site. It is apparently a subset of the European site.

Welcome to this blog. My name is Michael Thompson and I am a marketing coach/consultant and I work primarily with small busineses.

I am currently in the process of learning about DubLi and considering becoming a part of this phenomena that is sweeping Europe.

As I learn more about Dubli, I will post what I learn in the hope that it will help you to decide if it is something you also would like to be involved in.
