If you find a competitor who has the same product at a lower price than Dubli, within two weeks after you have purchased the item, Dubli will not only match their price but also credit your account with 10% of the difference. For example you purchase an item from Dubli at $100 and you find another vendor who has the same product and is advertising it for $90, Dubli will credit you the $10 difference plus an additional $1.00 for a total of $11.00. I think this is great because it takes the risk out of participating in an auction. You can shop knowing that you have the option of buying at a good price no matter what the state of progression for that particular item. Of course you also stand the chance of buying something that is a GREAT deal.

I notice that just recently someone bought an iPOD Shuffle 3G silver for$45.75. Another person bought a Canon Powershot SX200 IS for $208.75. The same one is selling on Amazon for  $349.95. Note that the auction started at $349. That means even if you were the first person to bid on it, you would still have bought it for 75 cents less than on Amazon.

If you want to see how the auctions are running in Europe ( 4 months after launch), go to the US Dubli site, click on the European flag that is next to the US flag then change the language to English. If you click on the completed auctions link you will see the prices that people have been paying. From what we learned from Europe, the auction sales really took off after 4 months.

You will see some very low prices in the Xpress auction. Surprisingly low. This is because so many people were bidding that the price dropped really quickly. Impressive.

There is no charge to sign up. The free credits will let you try some of the auctions at no risk to you. Try the “Lowest Unique Bid” auction and see how cheaply you can buy an X-Box 360. Or how about a brand new 32″ Toshiba LCD TV? Perhaps some Bobbi Brown Limited Edition make-up is more your style?  Either way with the “Lowest Unique Bid” you decide how much you want to pay. If your bid is the lowest AND unique, then you win it at that price.

You can also use your three free credits on the “Zero” auction. With this auction if you are the last person to bid when the price drops to zero, then you win. All you have to do is pay the shipping.

There are quite a few interesting products for sale and the starting prices seem competitive. I compared some of the electronics items to what is on BestBuy and the Dubli starting prices are less. So that is a great sign. It means that no matter when you click to buy something, you will get at least a reasonable deal and at most a fantastic deal!

If you look around on the web you will see a lot of websites with the Dubli name and they are not pretty. Anyway the long and short of it is that I will need to find a new domain name and move this site to the new name. It may take me a couple of days but I will place a link here to redirect you to the right place.
